REASONS TO TAKE A FALL RV VACATION

I hate to admit it, but the summer is coming to a close.  The kids are back in school, you’ve returned to your regular work schedule,  and the nights are becoming cooler.  But don’t pack everything up just yet!  Fall RVing can be a spectacular opportunity to take a weekend vacation with family or friends, and here’s why:

1.FALL WEATHER
Yes, I know, Fall weather can be unpredictable. But, it can also be glorious.  If you’re lucky enough to encounter some warm weather, you can still enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking and many more outdoor activities.  If the weather is a bit cooler, then a cozy campfire is the best way to warm up.  A perfect time to try out those new campfire recipes!

2.AFFORDABILITY
Fall, the season sitting in between prime summer time, and peak holiday time. You will usually find some price drops or great Fall vacation packages !

3.FALL FESTIVALS
This is the perfect time to look for Fall Festivals and events. Most larger cities and smaller rural town, have extraordinary Autumn Festivals, including Pumpkin festivals, apple orchard events, and you can even find some local musical events.

  1. Pump-Gan-Fest  Saturday September 29th, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm : Enjoy a fun filled day of games for kids, entertainment, local vendors and a fabulous display of pumpkins.  FREE admission at the Town of Gananoque Town Park.
  2. Classic Country Weekend Friday September 21 & Saturday September 22nd, 2018: Two days of Classic Country music and Happy Green Acres Campground in Mallorytown, ON.  Weekend camping packages available!
  3. Fort Fright Kingston  Visit Fort Henry in Kingston, ON., for the spookiest walks of your life!  Are you dreaming? Or is it real? Find out as you enter the underworld of Fort Fright.  Scream, panic and run as you try to evade this dream gone wrong, filled with super-humans, zombies, a toxic waste zone, coffins and more! (Fort Fright usually starts towards the end of September and runs through Halloween)


4.SCENERY
Fall is the absolute best time to hit the road if you’re looking to take in all the beautiful and breathtaking fall colours. Enjoy a beautiful hike, or take in the view from some of the lookout points looked off some of the highways in Ontario.  They truly are exceptional.

5.RELAX
After the hustle and bustle of summer activities and events and you’ve finally got the kids back to school…take a weekend to just breath.  Ferris Provincial Park is the perfect spot to unwind.   Located north of Campbellford, Ontario, choose from the many campsites along the park’s edges or deep in the forest.  Nicely secluded sites that will allow you the peace and quite you deserve.  Take a peek at the park information here.
